  2. Stumbled on this and it's ADORABLE!!! Could I ask where you found the doll? If it's not too much trouble, can you e-mail me at twosweetcakes@gmail.com? My friend wants a similar cake and I'm not sure where to find the doll :) Thanks!

  6. Looks fantastic well done. My daughter turns 5 in a few weeks and wonder if I am brave enough to attempt this?!! Is the white part of the tower a cone too? Did you dip it in melting candies/chocolate? Thanks

  7. Yes, the white part is just a regular cone and everything is fondant. I just used a brick mold to get the texture (michael's $5) and wrapped the cone. I then use icing to "glue" the 2 cones together. Good luck!

  9. I am trying to recreate your fabulous cake for a friend and was wondering about how you made the braid. I have been doing the math and it seems very challenging. Is there a tip you might have? Is it all one piece? Thanks so much and great job!

    1. It was a bit challenging, i won't lie, it was 4 feet long! Tips... tips... just go for it! It was just all one piece and it did break in a few places, but I just mended it. Since fondant is so much like playdough you just kind of mash it back together. I'm sure it will turn out great!. Good luck and if you can I'd love a picture of yours when it's done. my email is Sarahleeling@gmail.com.

  12. I just use regular old cake mixes! i think one was party chip and the other was strawberry(I say yuck! but that's what the little girl wanted). I believe I used a 8 or 9 in. round and a 6 in round.

  15. Where did you get the doll?

  16. Sarah,
I love the cake! I will also be making a Tangled cake this weekend. I was super glad to see you used a braid to trim the tiers. That is what I planed on doing too. How did you get the fondant to stick to the dolls head? That is the only part tripping me up!
    Thanks so much!

    1. I actually had to cut her hair first (i know!) I cut it to about her feet then put it in a ponytail with a elastic every couple of centimetes. Then I just PRESSED the fondant over the top of her hair. Honestly I had no idea if it was going to work, but it stayed on really well. Good luck! and send me a pic!

  17. My friend makes cakes and next weekend my little girl will be three and she is in LOVE with tangled. When I googled images for tangled cakes this one jumped out at me! You did a fabulous job!! I read above that the tower is made of a regular cone and then a sugar cone, I guess it is the photo that makes it look so tall. Hopefully ours turns out as good as yours did! One more thing, is the name also made from fondant?

    1. Yes, the names is fondant. I just cut out the lettering trying to match the Tangled font style.
      Hope it turns out cute!

  18. Gorgeous cake, how many people did it serve? Also for the castle did you use just one cake cone and one sugar cone? Because it looks much taller then just using a regular cake cone....thank you!!

    1. i'm not sure how many it served, though I would guess about 24 to 30. Yes, one cake cone with a sugar cone on top.
